Oh, my. None of that makes any sense.

Rory was the one saying that sellers are already decommissioning their own web sites and moving everything to Market. Why would they do that unless Market has already launched? Maybe...just maybe...Rory isn't being truthful about that. And that brings everything he says into question.

Several of the sellers that I looked at use Shopify as their web site platforms. The beauty of Shopify is that sellers can create and modify just about anything on their web sites with a few clicks. To suggest that someone outside needs to be involved is not accurate. A better explanation is that the sellers don't want to drive business to Market because that means they have to pay a sales commission to Verb. This is going to be one of Market's biggest challenges.

Sellers on Market will view the platform as bringing them INCREMENTAL sales that they would not have had otherwise. Search Amazon for certain items (especially small tech stuff) and you'll see dozens of Chinese companies with names you never heard of. Those companies use Amazon because they have no presence in the U.S./Europe. Those are the companies that might want to use Market. But with Amazon at their disposal (where they can post pre-produced videos demonstrating products) why would they use Market?

The idea that billion dollar companies are going to use Market (and pay Verb for every sale) seems like a reach. Verb might have more success trying to license their video/click technology to these large companies so the mega corps can incorporate it onto their own sites.

Then again, I think Verb tried this already...and failed.

True so far, but MARKET hasn't launched yet. Some companies have to pay someone outside to make a change to the website, so not as surprised the websites aren't updated.
