The main difference contributing to the different feel
is the silence and obscure press releases.
This probably revolves around the silly "ongoing" SEC investigation. It's such a silly thing, but it puts Zion in the position where it's better to say nothing at all. This is followed to the point where when asked if the picture of the Production Tank Battery could be verified, I was told that nothing about operations could be discussed except when discussed in an open forum.
Now I agree with that, but at the same time, its standard operating procedure to have a Flare Stack and a Production Tank Battery on site whenever testing a well. I was just looking for verification that the picture was genuine.
I do not hold it against Zion, they are just being extremely cautious. But that caution is also not good for the share price as we do not get all the information so that the stock can react and move up as good things happen.
With that said, it also implies that when we do get the announcement, the stock will respond accordingly. Like a coiled spring I guess is an analogy. If we have a commercial discovery, it will gap extremely high. That is why halting trade and recalibrating the share price based on the news will be the smartest move; otherwise, there will be violent swings up and down trying to find a balance.
That silence adds to the mystery around the MJ02 and allows for a wider variety of speculation. It gives a feel of something different is happening with MJ02 when actually, if we were to take the time, it is the same. There are also delays due to supply stream and covid. With MJ02, we are left in the dark so to speak, adding to the mystery and making it feel different this time around.
Wednesday should hopefully answer more questions than it creates.
