Relating to the post on Coretec linkedin acct , this link is the whole lecture by Stanley Whittingham who developed the first lithium ion battery in 1971 speaking at University of Michigan Monday. He mentions silicon as a needed component of the battery anode at around the 1hour and :09 min mark but says it needs to be developed so it works basically . He also says after that that the sulfur battery would be the best but has a ways to go. He does mention earlier in the lecture that solid state batteries are the future and of course silicon would be used in solid state batteries anodes as well .Hes part of the Battery 500 group you can find online .
