Jimjet,
It's more complicated than just what you write.
This is such an advanced technology breakthrough, in a critical part of the world's most critical tool - the internet -, that it had to be tested by ourselves, improved, re-tested and so on until it was ready to be presented to third parties for them to start their own testing and improvements cycle, before they would even just entertain adding Perk to the list of components that chip designers could use to define tomorrows groundbreaking components. Not the same as your everyday gizmo for which you sign a deal for a given quantity, exchange money and basta.
Conditional deals had to be signed to reach the piloting stage we are in at this very point. And they are not worthless in the least, like what GldP would like to convince people.
LWLG has not registered sales yet, I agree, but it is just plain wrong to say they have no deals to date.
Dr Lebby has mentioned being involved with several foundries, and I can guarantee you deals had to signed to be where we're at.
The TRL scale is used by the most serious organization on the planet to clearly define the state of advancement of a complicated project.
And the latest information shared by the company tells us that after being in piloting stage for several quarters, they are now starting to actively work on the ultimate commercialization stages.
GF with their PR last March about the Fotonix ecosystem, tries to explain to the whole world, what Dr Lebby has been preaching for years in the international conferences he has chaired: this level of tech is so complex that no single company can do it by themselves! It will take the collaboration of a whole ecosystem, that had to come together and invent itself - this is why it took the last 3/4 years - to come up with this new generational breakthrough.
Deals HAD to be signed to reach this level.
Now, several of the partners mentioned in the Fotonix release have confirmed that they will be manufacturing the first generation of these chips in the second half of 2022.
You can choose to ignore it, but words like "Direct drive" have been published, in association with these new chips.
Please give me the name of companies that have issued patents and spoken of new EO chips, integrated on a single platform, that have the capacity to do >110Gbaud per single lane, be power-saving compared to existing layouts, and also by the way, consume so little power as to allow the chip designer to do away with the drivers?
Please confirm the names, I am all ears?!?
Like was reported after ECOC 2019 by a competitor to Dr Lebby: "Lightwave Logic is now leading the pack, all alone in front!"
And that's why this hit piece is factually incorrect, from the title onward.
Industrial development time is not the same as algorithmic or even short-trading time: it takes years of arduous work, away from everyone's recognition, to come up with what is about to hit the DC infrastructure landscape. But this doesn't mean that nothing is changing. An earthquake is about to hit this industry.
The information is out there if you want to see it. You can choose not to. That's your choice. But it is not factually correct. And I am calling it for what it is.
