Flow rate experiment you can do at home

To get an idea of what flow rate looks like, do this experiment:

1. Put a gallon jug under the kitchen sink, put the faucet in wide open, then time how long it takes to fill the jug.

2. Repeat in the bathtub to get crazy high flows :)

The formula for barrels/day = 2057 divided by 1 gal fill time in seconds.

My kitchen sink filled 1 gal in 27 sec (1/2" copper pipe at 90 psi), which is a 76 barrels/day flow rate.

Bathtub was awesome at 14 sec fill time, which is 147 barrels/day.

You may not have a water well so can not try this part, but I've got the largest water well in the county with a flow rate of 200 gallons per minute coming out of a 2" pipe. That equates to 6,857 barrels/day. We don't want the sink or tub rate with MJ02, but the water well rate!

Please try this at home so you can get a feel for flow rates. And if you have any questions about how to set the experiment up please feel free to contact me at KyOil@outlook.com
