I have had that happen several times as well. From my experience I now believe if someone is selling less than $1,000 worth of stock it doesn’t show up in the market until someone buys it. So smaller trades remain in the background and aren’t shown until they have been executed. I don’t know why but it could be so that people cannot easily manipulate a stock with a bunch of smaller trades. Seems reasonable.
