U could have invested in VLO and gotten a nice dividend while u waited. After listening to Ron Insana on CNBC this afternoon, I have changed my position on raising interest rates.

My belief is that inflation is being fueled (no pun intended) by high energy costs. Raising rates will do NOTHING to bring down inflation. According to Insana, Powell is using Volcker's playbook--raise rates to create a recession. But, Insana says, conditions are far different now. My guess is that Powell will create a recession and inflation will remain high. Won't that be cute.
