With an EV costing about 25% MORE than an equivalent ICE vehicle, and including the interest rate charges over the duration of the loan, my calculations show that EVs will cost more to own and operate over the life of the vehicle.
Additionally, depending on the actual life of the battery and the significant expenses to replace it, the EV will probably cost considerably more than an ICE vehicle, which do actually drive many, many miles and last a long time.
If you are not able to own your own charging station, the cost of charging the EV will be much higher. Then there is my belief that, over time, gasoline fuel prices will go lower, while I expect the cost of electricity to go higher.
