I don't think so. He didn't enjoy most parts of the job, since it entailed real work. Reading and stuff. Listening to other people. The only things he really enjoyed were giving rallies and--sometimes, though not always--traveling.

He can do both without being president. I think he may want to be a kind of kingmaker. Choose the '24 Republican nominee, and tell him what to do.

And then take credit for anything that works out, and dissociate himself from anything that doesn't.

He's getting older. He's probably not feeling as energetic as he did back in 2015.
