Seems to me that questions about the company come before shelling out for 7000 shares, especially if 7000 shares worth is "a lot to me".

Maybe try investing the other way around and you'll feel more comfortable. Meanwhile, if you're REALLY getting cold feet I'd pay you $9 each for the shares you have so you can rest more easily.
