NS, I know CVS Caremark Insurance plans don’t cover or list GV. I know CVS pharmacies cover multiple insurance payers outside of CVS Caremark plans. I just called a CVS pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist. She was knowledgeable on Vascepa and extremely helpful. She said she can order GV but it would depend on my particular insurance on weather it would be covered. She went on to say many plans don’t cover GV so I should check with my plan before ordering and make sure GV is covered. Then she tried to help me get Vascepa Brand and mentioned the manufacturer coupon, if I have a commercial non Medicare plan, that makes Brand V cheaper than generic. She also guided me how to ask my doctor to write brand only and DAW on the script. She was very familiar with Vascepa and the entire process. It was very encouraging. So it’s confirmed, if your insurance plan covers GV, like UHC, you can get GV from a CVS pharmacy but if your plan doesn’t cover GV you’d have to pay cash price for GV.
