The More Energy Jobs Act, which could have benefited Gulfslope Energy and others was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives a little more than a year ago. It was initially referred to the Committee on Natural Resource then to the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. As of now this bill has not had a vote in the House or Senate. And there it sits. Evidently, energy jobs are not a priority after all.

If the mid-terms shake things up in the Senate and the House, perhaps a revised version of ‘The More Energy Jobs Act’ will finally be passed through Congress. In light of the turmoil in energy supplies, maybe President Biden will not veto it. If he does, he will provide much justification for Congress to deny some of the spending he favors. Remember, the House controls the purse strings for all funding, which can be used as leverage since we know how much the administration likes to give away money. Under this scenario, Presidential Orders and Vetos should be less frequent.
