Can't say I admire any politician. I'd respect Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower to some limit and I remember some of him. IMO Carter had good intentions. Mixed feelings on Reagan, as I never thought much of an actor being in politics as I saw is as another act to some degree but some of his ideas were ok.. Going further back possibly Lincoln.

Outside of Ike, maybe Reagan and Carter to some extent, no one from 1910 to present does much for me.

Non of the founding fathers. Most were hypocrites, many owned slaves but signed a document that all men are created equal. In drafting the electoral college map, which has become a big joke, blacks were considered 3/5 of a person, which is something else most history books don't teach.

The 3/5 thing was a compromise as the north only wanted to count free people as a real person in forming the map. How hypocritical was that?

BTW the History channel has a piece on Teddy this weekend. Might be interesting even though it's probably a rehash of others. How many ways can a biography be presented?

I could admire Teddy for his way of telling the party to shove it. For a long time it's too damn many yes men playing by the party ways to get elected. Big money runs the parties. So the pres to some extent is a puppet as is Congress... But then we have lobbyists so it's all legal.

Teddy was for the little guy, something we haven't seen much of since not even from cousin Franklin. Obama was a joke, like Biden his workings hurt some he claimed to support..

Teddy was a progressive Republican. Very different than todays con. 110 years ago monopolies were the norm and he went after them. The fact he said F U and did some of the right things holds a lot of water for me.

Kind of ironic, even though Teddy had a hand in breaking up some monopolies, the heads of most that were broke up back then went on to become even richer. Standard oil and Rockefeller is a good example. Break up a company, stay CEO and rake it in from several directions.

Centrists? We need many more. The few we have are often seen as traitors. I see them as traitors to the inner workings of big party garbage and the controlling purse strings. Most that weren't moderate don't become moderate until at or near the end of their career. I sometimes wonder if the last minute switch is something of an inner sense or awareness of fairness or maybe their own conscience finally ate away at them. Yet it's hard for me to believe any politician has a real conscience. I see a couple recent examples of nothing more than inner party fights so they vote against the party, which is bull. John McCain comes to mind.

I think some go into politics with good intentions. Then all the money changes most of these intentions thus leaving very few that give a shit about us.. Wouldn't you like to share pillows with horse face pisslosi to get insider trading tips? YUK But if it wasn't so lucrative why get in the mud slinging game to begin with?

In todays world I doubt Teddy would go far. He was selected as VP in thinking he'd be an out of mind out sight VP. But Teddy's presence was a boost for McKinley. When McKinley got shot the real Teddy came out. Now the crocked 2 party system makes damn sure whomever gets the nod knows who the boss is. Part of the reason why I like 3rd parties.

Let's take this a step further. Don't forget Ross Perot. He had my vote. A business man that knew how to balance a checkbook and was not part of the gang.. In a way I liked swamp master Trump due to not being part of the gang but still voted 3rd party.

Shortly after the 92 elections, the Leaque of women voters said no more third parties on the debate stage. What many don't know is this was due to pressure from the cons and libs. In a word they said there'd be no support if other competition is again allowed on stage. Perot scared the shit out of them with 19% of the popular vote. Probably one of the few times the big parties agreed on something..... Another reason why I continue to support many independents and Libertarians while knowing the odds of them winning something more than a local office is remote.. That bullshit really swung me from ever voting for a lib or con again, with a few exceptions in local elections.

Let the country hear other points of view on the same stage, screw the big boys.

You bring up the problems with the deli. I point directly at unions and the left as part of the reason. PART! It's a problem as too many hand outs are given so why should I work? Well if you want to amount to more than a statistic get off the pot and make something of your dead lazy ass.

Back in the day I had many union people come to my shop expecting it cheaper than the other guy yet they made the bigger wage. Their ideas didn't work on me then and still doesn't.

I know many union people. Most are ok but there's a few that should get the boot. A good friend has been in a paper makers union for about 30 years and talks about what a waste it is. He even says it's for those that are lazy or drink too much and call in excessively. .............. Can't argue with him as I've seen it first hand. I was in the Teamsters for 10 years. The only reason I was in the union was because it was a closed shop. But at the time I was fresh out of the service, needed a job and had the qualifications. So I swallowed my pride and joined. But I never took advantage of it, like many do.

Do your crap and get off the pot. If you don't the swamp might get ya'

The beatings will continue until moral improves.
