The problem isn’t simply lack of magnetic enthusiasm (also called charisma), I believe it’s that Missling has a credibility problem with potential pharma partners and investors. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: Anavex needs a senior management upgrade. Credit to Missling for getting Anavex onto Nasdaq and getting trials going. But at this point, it’s time, in fact past time, for a change. All anybody has to do (and trust me they do it) is do a quick Internet search for results that would give anyone pause. If Anavex brought in a seasoned CEO with a strong track record of success in drug development and commercialization, the investment universe would be looking much more seriously at AVXL.
