How big is the atrial fibrillation market?

Is this a small or insignificant cardiovascular disease problem, or bigger?

i. Atrial fibrillation [AF] is the most common arrhythmia, occurring in nearly 1% of the general population.
ii. Its incidence increases with age: 2% prevalence in patients younger than 65 years and 9% in those older than 65 years.

Ok, then, at age 65 or older about 9% have AF. Exactly how many need therapeutic interventions is not clear; perhaps a minority. Nonetheless, it would appear that several millions (in the US) would be at risk, needing a safe, effective therapy --- which blarcamesine can render.

As with all the other target diseases in the Anavex pipeline, let the clinical trials commence.
