SGN is a medical device company that is creating the next-generation of heart monitoring technology. SGN is focused on the detection of cardiovascular disease through continuous ECG monitoring.

Many heart abnormalities only manifest when a patient is active or exercising. But, until now, monitoring an active cardiac patient has been difficult because even the smallest body movements distort ECG signals.

SGN's unique patented technology reduces distortions, allowing physicians and cardiologists to monitor ECG signals from a patient in his or her everyday environment, solving a major cardiac care problem and giving researchers access to new and relevant clinical data.

SGN's technology was developed by their CTO Dr. Drakulic, in the early 1990's at UCLA. He originally developed it to record brain wave signals from a fighter jet pilot in a very harsh and noisy environment to objectively measure pilot performance.

SGN was able to use this technology to develop the Fidelity 100 which has the improved ability to accurately diagnose and treat cardiac disease and could potentially save hundreds of thousands of lives annually and result in billions of dollars in cost savings.

The ECG tests that are widely used today are only accurate when the patient is resting. When a doctor has the patient run on a treadmill, which is known as a stress test, there is a tremendous amount of noise and artifact. The doctor must eliminate the noise and artifact by averaging the clear signals together. This means that the stress test is very inaccurate and misses most heart problems.

How is it that President Bill Clinton, who has the best doctors in the world, was always given thorough medical exams each year with every test imaginable... and found to be completely healthy... until one day he had chest pains and needed to get immediate quadruple bypass surgery?

His arteries did not get clogged overnight. He is lucky he didn't have a massive heart attack and die. If he used SGN's Fidelity 100, it is very possible his heart problems would've been detected years earlier.

To see how SGN's Fidelity 100 works, SGN recently did a demonstration at the American Heart Association conference with Chicago Bears Super Bowl Champion and Athletes for Life Founder Willie Gault. Everybody at the conference was astonished. He was sprinting on the treadmill and there were absolutely no noise or distortions on the monitor. SGN's Fidelity 100 is ready to go to the market right now. Last week SGN procured a $10 million credit facility to bring the product to the market and they also terminated Rubbermaid as their distribution partner. SGN's CEO said in the press release that: "Signalife is actively selling our Fidelity 100 heart monitors, and will continue to ramp up our sales efforts, including establishing relationships both internally and externally with sales and distribution partners."

This leads me to believe that SGN might be about to announce a new distribution partner to replace Rubbermaid. Possible candidates that I see as having interest are Boston Scientific, GE, Medtronic along with others.

I told you before that SGN's technology was originally developed to record brain wave signals from fighter jet pilots. Being in a fighter jet is probably the harshest and noisiest environment possible. The only thing that comes close is a race car driver racing at speeds in excess of 200 mph.

Well, SGN was recently featured on NBC's Today show and their technology was used to monitor the cardiac signals of a race car driver. SGN's technology was called a "Modern Medical Miracle". To watch this video go to: http://www.signalife.com/Pages/videoWMV-TodayShow06.html

SGN recently announced that they completed their state-of-the-art Credit Card Personal Event Monitor. It will be called the "Signalife Heart Card".

SGN's Signalife Heart Card is about the size of a credit card and is a micro-engineered version of their Fidelity 100.

You keep it in your pocket and when you feel any kind of a heart palpitation or chest pain, you hold the device up to the center of your chest. It monitors your cardiac signal and lets you know if you have a serious heart problem and should seek medical attention or if you have nothing to worry about.

SGN anticipates relatively quick regulatory approval and plans to begin selling this device over-the-counter in drug stores in the third-quarter of this year.

I am sure that all of you have some kind of a heart palpitation or chest pain once in a while that concerns you. This device will be a must have for everybody with heart problems or with a family history of heart problems.

SGN has a deal signed with Gold's Gym. SGN will be opening up Signalife Cardio Gyms inside of Gold's Gym locations. Gold's Gym members will pay a fee to access the Signalife Cardio Gym. They can then use SGN's Fidelity 100 and run on a treadmill to test their cardiac health.

I have a feeling that Gold's Gym will be making a huge deal about this because it will put them on a whole new level compared to other gym companies. They will show that they care about their members' health.
