I don't get it (actually I do). It's way of trumpian antics, literally the epitome of the new GOP that they've given so much loyalty to. Now they are saying that Cawthorn is a liar, can't trust him. What a joke. What about all the other GOP crazies they've been backing and the continuous crazy antics and lies of tfg himself.
I guess they have to find some people to throw under the bus with rump as this stuff gets old and I believe some dirty deeds are going to come to light pretty soon to the mainstream. Maybe they are worried that many of the voters in their party are getting a little too wise. Or just being their hypocritical selves and doing their regular MO blaming others for what they are doing.
Like when Mcconnell defends Thomas saying that when the left is talking about recusals, they're just doing a “new and inappropriate pressure campaign” and doing “spurious accusations about fake ethical problems or partiality,” adding that Thomas and his colleagues “should feel free to completely ignore all this.”
But you see how they treated Jackson and brought up "packing the courts" when they've been packing for years and talked against her impartialities. Of course all of it just playing to elections and not anything to do with their actual job.
