20stockman: I lived through the dotcom bust and barely survived with some investable cash. So I do know what you are talking about.

I see a few differences:

1. We have actual products in the EV space.
2. The established players (like TSLA) are making profits.
3. Even though PE ratios in the EV space are astronomical, they appear to be supported by high growth rates.

So I do not see any real peril yet. BUT I am a born optimist!
