Had my annual cardiologist visit this afternoon in The Woodlands, TX. (Houston). All good but I asked the PA what she thought of Vascepa. Her answer was, 'good drug and it works'. I went into the skinny label infringement by the generics and her response was 'we write for brand as it's better and most often coupons keep the pricing in line.' I responded with the comment that some in the medical field think it is expensive and her response was, 'it's less expensive than the alternative', and that you could take a lot of fish oil and do nothing for yourself.
I felt better after that conversation. We just need more doctors educated to the benefits.
