I can't remember if it was stated in the Jackson hearing, but in the short MSNBC video, Whitehouse also states that the dark money was looking like a lot of the money was coming from big oil.
Then one can compare to how intensely the Republican party is blaming the price at the pump on Biden. BS about the pipeline which imported and pumped most money to the repug machine down in Texas. With setting up voter registration at the gas pumps and having all their minions and disinformation troops throwing their garbage constantly around. Fox (Faux)"news" page (Foxbusiness.com) instead of showing and talking about Putin's war against Ukraine, constantly showing big pictures front page with a gas pump, oil well, etc and Bidens picture or name in lights so to speak. Although it seems that they've toned it down a little lately and yesterday they did show Putin's picture with his yacht and talking about how much it was worth instead of Jackson's picture like all the rest of the news outlets.
All of this when the Republicans have so much connection to the fossil fuel industry and way more control of the flow of oil in the US and corresponding price at the pump than the Dems could ever have. With Texas being over 40% of all oil produced in the US and over a quarter of all natural gas. Admittingly the Dems pander to big oil also, but nothing compared to the Reps and oil does depend on the world market, but still just rotten to the core on what the New Repugs are doing with their misinformation war. Matches right up with Putin's disinformation ways.
