I don't know. That would be speculating on my part to say that they were shorting with high margin. I have always been of the conviction that a fair percentage of the shorts were hedges against warrants, though that number might have gone down in the last 6 months with the exercise of a lot of warrants. I have never really shorted, other than through options, so not sure how the brokerages are treating OTC companies when it comes to shorting on margins. I am assuming most of the shares shorted are currently profitable and if they are borrowed on the margin, they might cover some at these low prices. It will be interesting to see the short percentage for the next period of time. Maybe even the one coming out tomorrow, that covers first two weeks of March.
