Ah, just as I thought.

Sig-1R activation a) enhances the autophagic flux in human cells and in Caenorhabditis elegans....

SteadyT, thanks; just as I thought. Cells with endoplasmic reticula have the sigma-1 receptor. Ceanorhabditis elegans can be a valid organism to test blarcamesine's anti-aging properties; as I first presumed.

The previous question was an important one. Are sigma-1 receptor proteins found only in mammals. Well, no. C. elegans has them (they have endoplasmic reticula).

My original proposal of a blarcamesine anti-aging study with C. elegans is valid.

But I thank boi568 for posing the question. Valid and important. When I was teaching advanced placement biology, when a study asked a similar, seemingly contentious question, I would award free extra-credit points on the student's next test --- to promote critical thinking. Boi, a really good question, demonstrating good scientific thinking. Appreciate it.
