Silver Wheaton paid Barrick $625,000,000.00 for a silver stream covering production of silver produced from Pascua Lama at a fraction of the silver value at the time, this over a period of time not sure about the duration. If Barrick was unable to produce the silver from an operating mine Silver Wheaton would get their funds back plus Interest.
This changed to read (approved by the securities commissions) that instead of Barrick paying the funds back (Barrick were in debt troubles at the time) Barrick could pay the discounted silver equivalent owed by supplies from other mines owned by Barrick.
This was done and the stream deal was cleaned of debt.
Problem was/is there was a hold on any activity regarding the properties Amerilos which were in litigation in Chile. This was the basis of the original deal with Barrick.

Barrick has always stated openly in their financials that re Pascua Lama the claim properties in litigation had no fundamental value nor importance to their Pascua Lama project.

The only way to clean this up (for any value to MSX) would have been to get the courts in Chile to recognize Lopehandia's claims if they have any merit and then to determine from Barrick's drill data where they found and claimed the mineral reserves they told the investing world they owned.

Hard to establish anything with a company that has been closed down and no longer with any reason to be whatsoever.

The deal with Ossa was in hammering more nails in the MSX coffin and making sure it was buried deep enough to never be deterred.
