50% right would be excellent. University studies suggest stock pickers are right about 48.5% of the time, which explains why almost all day traders eventually fail. All those flips combine with devastating results.

48.5% doesn't fully explain the plight of the day trader since there's also trading friction, spreads and taxes in most cases.
