Sorry for the delay, but the precise answer is a little over my head, so I reached out to the company, and Greg Domian- the Sr. VP of Sales. As he describes below, when the different building codes are required, for insulation of the construction, the fact that our R-6 Insultex House-wrap is so thin that compared to say an R-6 of Pink Panther or other insulation, that we end up saving a lot of money. So in addition to what is noted below, think about if you are building a 100,000 sq. foot building, and all around the exterior you are saving 2"'s how many more profitable sq. feet, you have to sell? Now that the company is also expanding to Commercial Grade House-wrap, imagine if you are building much larger buildings! You save not only in the much increased cost for lumber, but you literally have more space that you can charge for.

Wall systems are built to comply with regional R-Value Zone requirements. In many instances, builders use an R-19 batting. Because R-19 insulation is just over 6 inches thick, it is well-suited for use in construction projects that use 2-by-6-inch lumber; it fits tightly in the wall and prevents air from flowing through gaps in the plywood on the walls. Manufacturers’ instructions specify installation without compression to achieve labeled R-value. Most producers produce an R–13 batt that matches right into a 2-by-4 wall cavity, which is often 3.25 to 3.5 inches in whole thickness, but have to compensate for the loss of six R-Value. This can be accomplished by using Insultex House Wrap®, with a 6 R-Value. Current average cost differential between a 2 x 6 x 12 and a 2 x 4 x 12 is $8.00/piece.

So in other words, you can't compress the thick fiberglass and other insulations to fit between 2" by 4"s, or you lose R-Value. That's why most projects must spend more $'s for the 2" by 6"s. This is just a couple aspects of why this is such a Disruptive Technology, and should- with proper marketing- dominate the multi-billions dollar industry. Add with any Siding home improvement, when you take off the old siding and before replacing it with new, by adding the I H-w you literally will be saving 25%-40%+ in mega-watt usage.
Again, when we start to roll like before the fake law-suit we will laugh how we bought this stock so cheap.
