They are not personal attacks, they are matters of fact.

I know it isn't very pleasant, but for what that ONE person did, he has harmed so many people.

I cannot fathom his compensation, but he is supposed to be such a wonderful person, he has turned out to be something very different.

I cannot understand how he remains a military officer.
