Problem is that even at 200m they would still not be showing a profit.

Simple solution: wait till they have a profit, and buy at $50 plus.
In the meanwhile you might also miss out on a near-term buyout.
Risk aversion sometimes works against you.
At current prices you're definitely buying cheap.
