On the flip side, the Bass legal team may recommend working out a settlement.

Why?

Four executives of the firm he targeted were just convicted. I’m sure there were settlement offers available. Juries in Texas tend to favor plaintiffs when it comes to big money.

When it comes to venues, lawyers like to file suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, especially in courts actually located in East Texas (Longview, Marshall and Tyler). Plano and Sherman are in the same district but are located north of Dallas.

Fort Worth is in the Northern District. Jurors in Fort Worth may be slightly more conservative than in Dallas.

If it was me, I would settle without admitting guilt. But egos tend to get in the way.
