We estimate machine-generated data first exceeded human-generated data in 2018. Our proprietary data model suggests that by around 2025, machines will generate 99 percent of data created, fueled by a confluence of emerging applications including AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, the metaverse and Web 3.0.
