FYI, and for purposes beyond this discussion, the market for a next generation, entirely successful schizophrenia drug is just about the same as for Alzheimer's:

The Schizophrenia advocacy group estimates the cost to the US economy at $281 billion per year. The AD estimate, I believe, is $277 billion per year.
