Is Laura Nuttall still with us ? Looks like she is !!

Laura’s just coming to the end of her second year at university, something I honestly doubt would have been possible without the help and support we’ve received from this community and the immunotherapy treatment it afforded us.

Laura has stayed healthy and symptom-free and her scans remained stable but back in March, a routine MRI revealed regrowth on the site of the original tumor. The team was convinced it wouldn’t be a recurrence of glioblastoma but of course, it was.

So Laura had a second brain surgery at the end of March and now we need further treatment to stop the remaining cancer cells from multiplying and taking hold. The plan is now for 2 further dendritic cell vaccinations and a course of a checkpoint inhibitor called Pembrolizumab.

Naturally, none of this is available on the NHS and we have only a little of the original fund remaining so we are faced with the enormous challenge of raising a further £80k and as such we are now reluctantly launching a new fundraising campaign here

Laura’s used the last few years wisely, studying and working as an ambassador for The Brain Tumour Charity as well as helping out with food banks in our community. We think she’s an incredibly special girl who deserves the luxury of getting old and we will do everything we can to give her that opportunity.
