If the merger agreement is signed or even if there is a complete agreement, I believe Mr. Morgan will tweet about it right away given how close it is to Christmas and then the official press release will follow. They may already have the press release prepared and able to release it but many traders are traveling for Christmas this week so who knows what they will do with the PR... but Mr. Morgan will do as he has been doing and that is inform his shareholders, imo.
