I had a steer wrecking my horse fence this year so it was about 170 yds and I let go a 12 ga load of #9 on his butt
he hasn't been back since...same went for a cow at the same spot in the fence....don't hurt 'em, but sure as heck gets their attention also for the occasional rat-chipmunk or whistle pig that's closer from what I'm seeing, even a Daisy-Crossman would work
I do want a trouble free model lots of complaints on the $180 and lower models multiple shot is a plus the FPS on these is amazing compared to the Red Ryder I had as a kid..... and the guy who invented it....was from here....
I'm also thinking maybe stick with the shotgun for the cows and use .22 shorts or .22 LR standard velocity for varmits
