In the example in that link,

In early 2021, carmaker Hyundai confirmed in a statement that it was in talks with Apple regarding cars. This, of course, raised suspicion that Apple is possibly entering the car market or creating a product related to automobiles. Hyundai then released a follow-up statement that removed any mention of Apple.

This sounds a lot like what may have played out with ENZC and Lonza.

I agree it would be foolish to fuel rumors on social media by making statements about undisclosed partnerships (which should be delicately disclosed in the filings at least?) that could lead to wild speculation and pumping. But we're also told perpetually by ENZC for months that something like the audit will be finished "soon" and that there haven't been any issues.

Disclosing details protected by an NDA is different than acknowledging that an NDA itself exists, and thus is tying hands on news of overdue milestones. ENZC could say "we are currently under NDA and it's delaying some expected updates, be patient while the situation develops" without implicating anything. Without basic transparency from a company that is consistently missing its deliverables, it becomes a red flag for many investors.

This idea of a super strict NDA that must prevent the very acknowledgement of itself, is itself a rumor that social media can run wild with! :P
(It is, however, a possibility that's hard to rule out...)
