I agree and it's still all just fluff until they actually announce partners/contracts/and etc..

However, between the patents acquired and then being utilized by several other big tech companies (as shown in several papers/blogs/presentations) and the record short position outlined and relayed by Joe Iniowa's research of the same via Twitter, my guess is that the shorts have finally seen the light and are looking for a way to lighten up...
