as a small investor I met JT at the last Dublin AGM in 2019. He said to me it was simply about oxidation. My gut feel was this was a hanger on gathering with lots of rich Americans on the pigs back enjoying the finest of Irish hospitality at shareholders expense. But the word from JT "Oxidation" stuck in my mind. He did come across as a genuinely nice guy, maybe that was his downfall.
