Thanks all for your concerns about my sister. She does have a fine team of Oncologists, and previously had been to City of Hope, and while I'll speak with my Dr. there, with her unwilling to consider the surgery being suggested, I really don't know if there is anything they can offer.

I previously met the specialist at COH who advocated essentially the same course of action that she was on. It included frequent scans, and surgery when growth was detected. I'm uncertain of how frequent her scans were done, but apparently the cancer just exploded between the prior scan and now. From what she said, the surgery would be massive and she had such pain from her prior surgery she simply won't permit it.

I can understand that a patient should have the right to say, no more surgeries, even if surgery is what the Doctors recommend. I believe in that case the cancer should be treated as though it were inoperable, even if that's not truly the case. I don't know that DCVax-Direct is the answer, but believe it possibly could be. If it were, it might eliminate many surgeries.
