I know that Lightwave’s CEO Michael Lebby at the time bought several photonics start ups ( as far as Israël) when in charge of creating an Intel’s Photonics Division in the late nineties of last century. Nothing spectacular came about. Intel has a typical bureaucratic, big company attitude and is not very good at nurturing small, innovative start ups into maturity. Too many “ know better” characters involved.
That’s exactly one ïf the reasons Michael Lebby wanted to keep Lightwave’s team small, world class and dedicated and the reason he didn’t want big corporate America ( banks, companies or institutions) to guide Lightwave’s activities. A very conscious choice. I don’t think LWLG is interested to sell to Intel, certainly not to Intel I would add. JMHO.
