I've never understood why any management would buy shares then not even try to defend the share price as it drops far below their purchase price, but it happens often. One possible answer would be they have a secret short position to help pay for their purchase. There are other more possibilities, of course. Could be a buyout with one final shake. Could also be retail bait trap??
