It's called OSINT, which is free and easy. OSINT stands for Open Source Intel. it's, of course, used by police, military, and companies who hire people. But you can also do it

Suppose, for example, you wanted to see if there was a relationship between Viking and Acoustic Geophysical Services. So, you do a google search (I happen to use Duckduckgo search) on Viking Acoustic Geophysical Services, and start reading. I see that AGS was purchased by Viking in 2012. Okay, what else happen in 2012. I see that Rob Dunn joined Viking in 2012. I also see the name Central European Drillers, hmmm, familiar, and they also joined Viking in 2012. So I wonder, before 2012, did Rob DUnn ever control AGS and CED as anything other than President of Viking International. I see he did. So I suspect Rob Dunn was founder or a principle in these companies and when he got hired by Viking, he brought his companies with him into Viking. Then you just continue on down the rabbit hole as far as you wish to go, which of course led to the Feb 26 2015 issue of Hydrocarbon Technologies (the Rig 35 article and the Zion Oil/Viking agreement for 3 wells).

Sometimes you hit. Sometime you don't. An example of not hitting would be Don Ellis, when I saw this guy buy millions in Zion Oil stock, the first thing i did ---- OSINT. Found his name, his address, where he lived, where he worked, his associates, his phone numbers, if he had Facebook, any posts he made. Then I compared where he lived, worked, and his associates with Zion Oil Board and senior Management associates, where they lived, worked, and who they were associated with. I was looking for a hit. Using free services, I found out alot of info, but I didn't get any hits. Had I hit, I would have known if Ellis had inside information, and I would have joined him if appropriate.

And doing stuff like that is exactly how I found out the senior scientist doing the 3D computer reduction analysis for Zion Oil was a religious Iranian national, who hated Trump, who hated Israel, and who visits Tehran regularly. With a single search on this companies address, I get to a real estate agents page where their facilities have been vacated and are now available for rent. Apparently, they closed their doors after they delivered the 3D report, and the company moved into the owners single family residence, per Google maps and street view. Sometimes you hit bigtime, sometimes you don't. But DO NOT EXPECT ZION OIL to issue a PR on these things. They don't.
