Yes, the majority of my shares aren't in the Roth. In general I'm a long term holder, rarely trade, but if the share price IMHO is way ahead of where I believe it should be, I'll set trailing stop losses, as it moves up I'll move up the trailing stop. If I sell, I'll be looking to buy back bigger if the stock retrenches sufficiently to do so.

If Options become available, I'd probably not sell at all, but rather sell slightly out of the money calls. If the stock retrenches I'd buy them back and look to do it again on the next run up. My goal really is to build the wealth so my kids can inherit it tax free, but I'll trade some if I really believe the stock is over-priced and expect it to retrench substantially. I'll treat the Roth very differently as there are no tax consequences for trading, and that could provide an opportunity to dramatically increase my share holdings.
