There has been little discussion of this. But, it’s big. Thank you for mentioning it. Autism is a major, debilitating mental health problem, presently with few good therapies. Rett syndrome, of course, is classified as one form of autism, within the broad spectrum of those mental debilities. Doubtless, once blarcamesine proves efficacious for girls with Rett it will then be clinically tested for other autism variants.

I’m certain that it will become apparent that the best blarcamesine therapies for girls with Rett will be when administered at the earliest age; mostly likely when first diagnosed, in the first young years of the afflicted girls; before untoward CNS anomalies becomes locked in.

The same may well be true for other forms of autism, where blarcamesine would be prescribed when autism is first diagnosed. With that, there is a good chance that the child can go on to a more normalized maturity.

Ponder the social, economic, and ethical outcomes and considerations.
