I went and looked at the court case that was brought against Alex by Margaret and what I was finding is that it was dismissed without prejudice. I could not locate a final decree or a finding against Alex in Margaret’s favor.

Which means that Margaret can still re-file her case against Alex. It isn't over until she resolves the issue with Alex or until she drops the whole matter. It must be worth money to her to pursue it. I wouldn't let him rip me off either.
