Have to admit, the Anywhere Caller announcement could have been handled a little better. I tried the number listed on the website and got the fast busy signal.

At a time when GTEM is trying to regain shareholder trust, they could have done a better job of dotting I's and crossing T's.

The Mexico test was announced after the fact and the Sanswire test's were PR'd around or after the actual test so I was getting the impression that GTEM had altered their strategy to not be as forward looking.

I reread the PR and I guess the wording could be considered to be more forward looking that immediate. Was the PR implying that this was a service that was going to be offered in the future or that it was already available? Phrases such as:

"will be sold"
"rollout of MetroTel's Anywhere Caller product"
"we're starting in two of the largest markets in the US"

I HATE that word "rollout". That appeared in a number of PR's in year's past for product's that were not quite ready yet....the national rollout of Magic Phone for example.

I did a google search and this is what came up from whatis.com:

"rollout

A rollout is a staged series of activities that often accumulate meaning as they occur. Computer product makers and marketers use the term to describe a series of related product announcements that are staged over time. Public relations campaigns use the term to describe the revelation of a major company theme, event, or other message over a period of time calculated to lead to ideal results. When a company installs new equipment, the installation staging is sometimes called a rollout."

So I guess if you use this definition, the AnywhereCaller program should be viewed as something that will materialize over time and that it is not necessarily available now.

While I am just venting a little, I just thought of something positive that could be read into all this....could it be that GTEM feels a little more secure in releasing forward looking news without being accussed of wrongdoing by the SEC? Before , it seemed like they were being overly cautious about releasing news. Could this mean that they are feeling bolder because they have resolved the issues with the SEC? Never a dull moment with GTEM.
