Not intentionally, but, inadvertently, perhaps. With JT at the helm, we may have kept our 1990s-style, salesperson-based approach, and we might have decided to go with partners throughout Europe.

Then, with the arrival of the pandemic, our U.S. sales would have been sluggish even without generics nipping at our heels. And, by the time we fully emerged from the pandemic, we'd only have five or six years left in the U.S. without generics in the market.

Whatever partnership we're forming with Pfizer might not have occurred if JT stayed in charge. For some reason, I think Pfizer made a run at Amarin in early 2019 and walked away very disappointed, convinced that Amarin had an unrealistic view of its worth for a potential buyout.
