Maybe his intent was an immediate default, maybe it wasn't. I don't know - I can't read his mind.

Actually, assuming you are correct and he intended to default on that Friday, that would mean that his statement was true to the best of his knowledge at the time he said it.

I'm not saying it's impossibe that Huff wasn't involved in some conspiracy and knew for a fact that he wasn't gonna default on that Friday, I'm just saying your example in no way proves a lie IMO.
