Hey noblynx, I’m not a rocket scientist but I have worked in advanced electronics world for almost 40 years so I’m going to give you my spin on this technology. What LWLG has developed is an “active” polymer that when stimulated off & on at high radio frequency speeds blocks light from passing through. That being said it’s “modulated” light equal to ones and zeros. or highs and lows needed to transmit data via fiber optic networks. Current “chip” technology based on transistors has hit the wall in regards to speed. Light Wave takes advantage of Photons which can pass through one another at different wave lengths and not cause heat (power loss) like electrons do in microprocessor technology. LWLG’ s modulators are so fast they had to go out and have someone design and build new test equipment just to measure their switching speed. So bottom line it’s an extremely fast light switch made by an extremely bright team of scientists and engineers at LWLG. I hope this helps.
