Basically, I believe it is a method to fine tune the drilling fluid pressure in real time to be able to respond to the pressure gradients that fluctuate outside of a more linear pressure/depth profile that is more common
The old standard was to load up the drilling mud with barite to a certain density then just go at it
I'm sure it's far more technical now, especially with synthetic drilling fluids needed for drilling salt (to avoid dissolving the salt with the old seawater/barite mud)
So the bottom line is lessons learned and GSPE will take the steps needed to drill Tau2 without the problems encountered on Tau1
