Even back then it'd be preposterous to think the data was "unimpeachable", let alone now. For that to be true it'd mean a "small company analyzing a large trial" cost thousands of patients their lives as they dragged it out years and years. And, that makes absolutely no sense.

No, this is research for researches sake, paid for by unappreciated and unsuspecting retail investors to the benefit of CDMO builds, university labs, and executive salaries.
