That is correct, actually. Hedge funds and mm’s now employ more algorithm programmers than actual traders. The programmers don’t give a whit about substance or the company. They deal in math, and ask the question “how do we extract as much money as possible from market participants using an algorithm.” In the clinical biotech world, that generally means “short and suppress.”
